Nature Spaces.

Exploring nature connectedness.

In 2019 School Kit partnered with Department of Conservation to bring to a kit called Nature Spaces. Student worked together to Identify and adopt a nature space close to them. They were challenged to observe their space from multiple perspectives - emotions, values, sounds, time etc. They learned to make earth sandwiches and observe the night sky directly above. The final part of the project was to document their findings and responses on our guerilla art style DIY map.

The Nature Spaces kit was aimed at Year 4 - 8 and the learning areas of Technology, Social Sciences and Science. 250 classrooms participated in the Kit with a reach of 8,000 students.

“This kit has so much to it. The importance of looking around at your surroundings and thinking about it from different angles, feeling the heart of nature and its beauty is what this kit inspired.”
